Application Scientist (Germany)

The ACD/Labs Technical and Scientific Services (TSS) Team is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to support customers, account managers and distributors by demonstrating ACD/Labs scientific software solutions that address specific needs within our clients' workflows. Additional responsibilities will include providing technical support, assisting with marketing activities and participating at conferences.


Education: The ideal candidate will have a M.Sc. degree, or higher, in Chemistry (or a related science), preferably with a minimum of 18 months industrial experience. Prior knowledge of ACD/Labs software solutions is advantageous, but not a prerequisite.

Analytical/Laboratory skills: Well versed with modern analytical techniques including NMR, MS, UV, IR, Raman, chromatography and hyphenated techniques such as GC/MS and LC/MS.

IT Experience: The candidate should be very comfortable with software. This includes MS Windows® operating systems. Familiarity with scientific software, other operating systems as well as programming languages (Java, Pascal, and Visual Basic) or databasing systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) are highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required: The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who enjoys and excels at problem solving and demonstrates good interpersonal skills, has ability to learn on the job, is self-motivated and has a strong attention to detail.

Language: Strong composition, grammar, and presentation skills in German and English.

Travel is mandatory for the completion of some of the above tasks and will constitute approximately 30 to 50% of your work hours.
