Inside Account Manager (Scientific Software)

Inside Sales Associates work in support of the Americas Sales Team to strengthen company-client relationships, improve the quality of the company client database, and be a key part of sales campaigns aimed at creating new business opportunities. Your job will consist of prospecting for new business in order to generate qualified opportunities for the territory, preparing customer quotations and proposals, responding to customer requests for information, possibly managing small accounts in a given geography or market segment, and assisting the Sales Director with the coordination of sales meetings, customer meetings, and sales events. You will also work closely with the Marketing Communications department on promotional sales campaigns. You must have strong communication and presentations skills, hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, understand analytical spectroscopy and chromatography techniques including NMR, MS, UV/IR, HPLC, LC, GC, be familiar with modern computer technologies, and be willing to travel within your territory. If successful in this role, the Inside Sales Associate could develop into an outside Account Manager.

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or relevant experience
  • Travel in the territory (Canada/USA)

Remuneration:

  • Depending on qualifications
  • Base + commission

Technical Support Specialist (UK)

The ACD/Labs Technical and Scientific Services Team is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist customers, distributors and team members by providing technical support for ACD/Labs software and solutions. Additional responsibilities will include conducting software training, assisting with marketing activities and participating at conferences.

Requirements

Education: The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in Chemistry (or a related science), preferably with some industrial experience. Prior knowledge of ACD/Labs software solutions is advantageous, but not requisite, as full training will be provided.

Analytical/Laboratory skills: Well versed with modern analytical techniques including MS, NMR, UV, IR, Raman spectroscopy, chromatography and hyphenated techniques such as GC/MS and LC/MS.

IT Experience: The candidate should be comfortable with MS Windows® operating systems. Familiarity with scientific software, other operating systems as well as programming languages (Java, Pascal, Visual Basic) or databasing systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) are a distinct asset, but not requisite.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who enjoys and excels at problem solving, and demonstrates good interpersonal skills. The candidate will be required to learn on the job, be self-motivated and have an eye for detail.

Language: English, strong composition, grammar, and presentation skills.

Candidates with a B.Sc. degree with substantial industrial experience will also be considered. Prior knowledge of ACD/Labs software solutions is advantageous, but not requisite, as full training will be provided.
