The ACD/Labs Technical and Scientific Services Team is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assist customers, distributors and team members by providing technical support for ACD/Labs software and solutions. Additional responsibilities will include conducting software training, assisting with marketing activities and participating at conferences.

Requirements

Education: The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in Chemistry (or a related science), preferably with some industrial experience. Prior knowledge of ACD/Labs software solutions is advantageous, but not requisite, as full training will be provided.

Analytical/Laboratory skills: Well versed with modern analytical techniques including MS, NMR, UV, IR, Raman spectroscopy, chromatography and hyphenated techniques such as GC/MS and LC/MS.

IT Experience: The candidate should be comfortable with MS Windows® operating systems. Familiarity with scientific software, other operating systems as well as programming languages (Java, Pascal, Visual Basic) or databasing systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) are a distinct asset, but not requisite.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who enjoys and excels at problem solving, and demonstrates good interpersonal skills. The candidate will be required to learn on the job, be self-motivated and have an eye for detail.

Language: English, strong composition, grammar, and presentation skills.

Event Producer/Coordinator

We have a message that needs to be heard! Our marketing team is looking for an Event Producer or Coordinator to help bring that message to the world. We participate in over 30 trade show exhibitions every year, deliver oral and poster presentations at dozens of international conferences, organize users' meetings on three continents, and host seminars in cities all around North America and Europe. We are looking for someone to organize all of this, and help us take it to another level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning meetings: participation and requisite materials
  • Logistics: travel arrangements, shipping, reservations, sponsorships, catering
  • Promotion: planning and executing successful campaigns to drive awareness of the events
  • Lead Management: oversee the leads management process
  • Management of ROI and meeting feedback from stakeholders
  • Inventory Management: keep an active inventory of all marketing assets worldwide
  • Working within an agreed budget and reporting expenses
  • Assistance in budget planning

This person will work with the assistance of the entire marketing team, who provide artwork, printed material, copy-editing, technical writing, as well as direction about the focus, key goals, and target market of each event.  This person will collaborate extensively with the worldwide sales team, solution management team, and IT and Admin groups.
