Pleasanton, California (January 22, 2001) - Scientific Software, Inc. and Advanced Chemistry Development Inc. announce that they have agreed to form a technology alliance to integrate their software products. This alliance will enable customers to more effectively use the market leading technology of both companies to store, manage, analyze, and report on chromatography and spectroscopy information to streamline their product development process.

By virtue of this alliance, ACD's ChromManager software will seamlessly interpret and display Scientific Software Inc.'s award-winning EZChrom EliteTM data files. This will enable the EZChrom Elite user to directly relate chemical structure to chromatograms through the ACD package. In addition, users will be able to create structure and substructure searchable databases of chromatograms. ChromManager is integrated with ACD's LC Simulator module, which allows simulation and optimization of chromatograms including elution order prediction based on the industry standard physicochemical prediction software suite.

In addition, Scientific Software will integrate the ACD file structure into its CyberLAB Knowledge Engineering SystemTM. This integration allows the ACD customer to have a complete knowledge warehouse to store, search, manage and archive chromatography and spectroscopic data. This seamless integration of the industry leading ACD analysis tools with the scientific industry's first knowledge engineering system will significantly improve users decision making processes and time to make for new compounds. Users across the enterprise will have only a single web-based repository to search and retrieve information.

"Integrating our spectroscopy and chromatography solution suite to CyberLAB and EZChrom will provide analytical scientists with a consistent suite of archival, processing, database and chemical structure integration tools," says Antony Williams, Business Development and Marketing Manager, Advanced Chemistry Development Inc. "This integration between raw and processed data and resulting reports truly addresses the information flow of the industry."

"We are very pleased to have this relationship with ACD," says Soheil Saadat, President and CEO of Scientific Software, Inc. "We feel that the combination of ACD's analysis tools with our data and information products enhances our vision to streamline the scientific decision management process."
