What’s wrong with my water? Using software to solve organic chemistry problems and emergency samples faster

Abstract: The present direction of legislation is changing the responsibility from the regulator to define what is
unsafe to the water utilities and companies discharging effluent to show they have done everything in their power to ensure
it is safe.
This subtle shift in responsibility means companies need to screen their water and environmental samples for potential hazardous compounds as a protection against negligence.
Typically, LC-MS and GC-MS screening is not only time-consuming but there are a lot of unidentified compounds in an environmental
sample and it is impossible to elucidate everything.
ACD/Labs will be demonstrating live software to show how you can automate your screening processes, identify “benign” unidentified
compounds in an investigation, highlight any compounds with high toxicity, and solve the cause of organic chemistry
emergencies faster.
