Rule 2S-2 Fundamental Heterocycles

2.1 - The parent tetracyclic hydrocarbon without methyl groups at C-10 and C-13 and without a sidechain at C-17 is named "gonane".

2.2 - The hydrocarbon with a methyl group at C-13 but without a methyl group at C-10 and without a sidechain at C-17 is named "estrane".

Note: Names of compounds having a methyl group attached to C-10 and a hydrogen atom attached to C-13 are to be based on 18-norandrostane (see Rule 2S-6.1)
