Specific Classes of Compounds

R-5.3.2 Nitro and nitroso compounds

Compounds containing a

group or a

group are named only be means of the prefixes "nitro-" or "nitroso-", respectively.

Examples to R-5.3.2

Compounds containing the group

may be named as derivatives of the functional parent compound azinic acid

or by using the prefix hydroxynitroryl (see Table 7)
