Specific Classes of Compounds

R-5.6.5 Acyloins

-Hydroxy ketones, , in which R is an alkyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group, are generically called "acyloins" and are named by substitutive nomenclature. Names ending in "-oin" are not included in these recommendations.
