Isotopically Modified Compounds

R-8.3 Isotopically Labelled Compounds

An isotopically labelled compound is a mixture of an isotopically unmodified compound with one or more analogous isotopically substituted compound(s).

Note: Although an isotopically labelled compound is really a mixture as far as chemical identity is concerned (in the same way as is an unmodified compound), for nomenclature purposes, such mixtures are called 'isotopically labelled' compounds.
