Appointment: Director of European Operations

Advanced Chemistry Development announces the appointment of Dr. Guy Desmarquets as our new ACD/Labs Director of European Operations . Guy will be responsible for coordinating all ACD/Labs activities in Europe, including the annual European Users' Meeting to be held this November. Guy will be providing our European distributors with sales support training, assisting in global solutions and custom installations of ACD/Labs software, as well as keeping our distributors up-to-date on ACD/Labs' latest developments.

"As the new ACD/Labs Director of European Operations, my goal will be to promote ACD/Labs software in the European market not only as an industry leader, but as the preferable software solution for analytical chemistry," said Guy of his new role at ACD/Labs. "I would also like to change the perception of the software distributor as an organization that not only supplies ACD/Labs software, but also provides quality sales and technical support in order to meet the customer's software needs."

Before joining ACD/Labs, Guy was the Director of ChemCAD, ACD/Labs' official distributor for France, Belgium and Spain. During the last four years, Guy was not only responsible for bringing ACD/Labs software to the European market, but he was also one of our most successful distributors. Created in 1994, ChemCAD specializes in promoting and distributing spectroscopy, chemistry and biochemistry software to some of Europe's biggest Fortune 500 companies, universities and government research agencies.

Guy's scientific background includes a baccalaureate in Biochemistry from the University of Lyon. In 1983, he also earned a doctorate from the University of Lyon, where he specialized in Molecular Biology. When not promoting ACD/Labs software, Guy enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is a big fan of classical music, contemporary history, and the game of Scrabble, of which he participates in France's championship games every year.
