Congratulations to the 100,000th Downloader of ACD/ChemSketch!
2 July 2001
Acting on the recommendation of a colleague, Dr. John Minatelli
of DSM Catalytica Pharamaceuticals, Greenville, NC,
decided to download his own copy of ACD/ChemSketch
freeware and try it out. After a smooth installation,
Dr. Minatelli spent an enjoyable hour drawing and calculating
properties of many aromatic compounds. He even sent his
colleague a newly drawn ChemSketch structure by e-mail.
A week later, ACD/Labs Account Manager Sherry Gregory left a message
on his voice-mail: "congratulations, you are the 100,000th downloader
of ACD/ChemSketch!" Dr. Minatelli's initial disbelief was soon replaced
by enthusiasm. "I guess I was in the right place at the right time."
One hundred thousand downloads is such a significant number that
ACD decided to award a comparably significant prize. On its way to
Dr. Minatelli today is a full site license copy of ACD/ChemSketch,
including ACD/Dictionary, for the entire Greenville and South Haven
locations of DSM Catalytica Pharmaceuticals. "I know the
entire site has wanted a good common interface for exchanging
chemical structure information," said Dr. Minatelli when we
contacted him. "We can't wait to get it on every desktop."
