TORONTO, June 27, 2001 - Advanced Chemistry Development announced today the appointment of a new Director of Sales, Ian Dugdale
"ACD/Labs has the most highly developed suite of software for chemists available in the market today. Our mission is to grow ACD/Labs by making every chemist aware of this fact," declared Mr. Dugdale in a brief statement at a luncheon to celebrate the event. Ian Dugdale is already a member of the ACD/Labs team, as the Product Manager of Global Solutions. He assumes his new responsibilities with over 8 years' sales and sales management experience in the software industry. Ian graduated from Queen Mary Westfield College in London UK with a B.Sc. First Class Honours in Chemistry, followed by an M.Sc. in Information Technology from Victoria University in Manchester UK. His formal education is well supplemented with an excellent knowledge of ACD/Labs product and service offerings.

TORONTO, June 2001 - Advanced Chemistry Development and Elsevier Science release FT-IR and Raman Polymer Database
Elsevier Science and Advanced Chemistry Development have collaborated to produce a database containing a collection of FTR-IR Spectra of 500 natural and synthetic polymers. Until now, this data has only been available in the Handbook of Fourier Transform Raman and Infrared Spectra of Polymers, by A.H. Kuptsov and G.N. Zhizhin.

TORONTO, June 12, 2001 - US Team Prepares for International Chemistry Olympiad, with ACD/Labs Support
Advanced Chemistry Development is proud to support the US Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp with donations of our chemistry software to help in their studies. The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) Study Camp is being held this year at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO from June 13-17. Twenty participants prepare for one week, and of these, 5 are chosen. The purpose of the camp is to prepare and select the team for The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) competition to be held in Mumbai, India from July 6-15. This is the 33rd IChO competition and will be the 18th year that the U. S. has sent a team. Last year's team received 2 Gold, including top score in the world, and 2 Bronze medals. TORONTO, May 24, 2001 - Version 5.0 Software Release Imminent
Advanced Chemistry Development is pleased to announce that Version 5.0 is in the final stages of testing and release is imminent. We are encouraged by the number of users who are contacting us to see when this release will be available and what's new for the upcoming version. In order to help satiate the requests of our users we are posting our What's New in 5.0 informational sheets here. We believe that of particular interest will be the fact that version 5.0 will be fully 32 bit compliant, will include "live update online" to allow users to download bug fixes and updates and the fact that ChemSketch now supports direct export to PDF files. TORONTO, May 10, 2001 - 100,000 Downloads of ACD/ChemSketch Freeware
On May 10th ACD/Labs celebrated the download of the 100,000th copy of ChemSketch freeware from their website. With an average of 35,000 demo CDs delivered around the world per year, each with a copy of ChemSketch available for installation, and the thousands of ACD/Labs customers worldwide already using the interface, the conservative user base for ChemSketch numbers more than a quarter of million users today. TORONTO, April 16, 2001 - Advanced Chemistry Development has provided over 200,000 ACD-generated chemical names and over 9,000 ACD-predicted LogP values for display via the Enhanced CACTVS-Based Browser of Structures of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Open Database. Commented Antony Williams, Vice President of Scientific Development and Marketing, "We are happy to provide this service as our contribution to the largest publicly available chemical structure database."

TORONTO, April 12, 2001 - ACD/Labs Scientific Scholar of the Year Award - Graduate Stream - 2000
We are pleased to announce the results of the ACD/Labs Scholar of the Year 2000 Award, Graduate Stream. The work presented was of the highest scientific standard and we are honored to reproduce the award winners' work at this website. The three winners, in order, were (1) Sébastien Reymond of the CNRS in France; (2) Sigitas Stoncius of Vilnius University in Lithuania; and (3) Keith Gawrys of North Carolina State University in North Carolina, USA. Honorable mention is also given to (4) Filip Toukach of the Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences whose work we found extremely interesting. At Pittcon ACD/Labs and NuGenesis unveiled the latest results of their ongoing efforts to produce high level integration between their individual solutions. ACD/Labs benefits from NuGenesis Enhanced Vendor Support and as a result meta data are extracted directly from ACD/Labs files and included as context-sensitive keys into the NuGenesis Archive. As part of an ongoing effort to improve the scope and predictive accuracy of ACD/pK_a DB, Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. today announced that it has extended its strategic partnership with BioByte Corp. Under the terms of a new agreement, ACD/Labs will be able to use pK_a data from BioByte's Masterfile database of measured pK_a values to improve the accuracy and scope of its prediction of pK_a and related properties. TORONTO, Canada, February 6, 2001 - ACD/Labs Enters Into Worldwide License Agreement with Pfizer for ACD/PhysChem Software
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (ACD/Labs) today announced that Pfizer, Inc. and ACD/Labs have signed a five-year agreement that will provide Pfizer scientists worldwide with critical predictive information about the physical properties of drug candidates. Under the terms of the agreement, Pfizer will have unlimited desktop access to four ACD/Labs products, in order to provide every medicinal chemist with ready information about the physical properties of compounds while they are being considered for synthesis. TORONTO, Canada, February 5, 2001 - ACD/Labs submits proposal for OMG LECIS standard
As part of an ongoing commitment to the goals of the Lifesciences Subgroup of the OMG, and as part of its own Global Solutions intitiative, Advanced Chemistry Development has submitted an initial proposal which defines an architecture for controlling and acquiring data from laboratory instruments utilizing the LECIS protocol. The final standard will be ratified during the summer of 2001, and will signal the end of the era of unidirectional communication between laboratory instruments and automation software systems. As part of an ongoing effort to improve the scope and predictive accuracy of ACD/LogP DB, Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with BioByte Corp.
