TORONTO, May 6, 2002 - ACD/Labs Presents Results on PhysChem Predictions for over 12 Million Structures in CAS Registry
ACD/Labs presented the results of PhysChem predictions for over 12 million structures at ACS Spring in Orlando, FL, USA. Using CAS substance connection tables and software developed by ACD/Labs, PhysChem properties for over 12 million structures were calculated and made available in the CAS Registry by STN ®, SciFinder ®, and SciFinder Scholar 2001. Recently added properties include: hydrogen donors, hydrogen acceptors, molecular weight, log P, log D, pK a, and molar solubility.

ACD/I-Lab prediction capabilities are now
available on ChemWeb. Accurately
compute systematic names according to IUPAC recommendations and predict NMR
spectra including 1H, 13C, 15N (new to version 6.0), 19F, and 31P and PhysChem properties including pK a, log D, log P, boiling point, and
solubility, as well as search chemical databases, through the ChemWeb
interface.

TORONTO, April 24, 2002 - Canadian Team Prepares for International Chemistry Olympiad, with ACD/Labs Support
Advanced Chemistry Development is proud to support the Canadian Chemistry
Olympiad Team with donations of our chemistry software, as well as other ACD/Labs
goodies, to help the students in their studies. The Canadian Chemistry and
Physics Olympiad (CCPO) organization aims to prepare talented pre-university
students for the International Chemistry and Physics Olympiads. After a
series of exams, fifteen chemistry students are invited to the National
Olympiad Final (NOF) held at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec in May.
After one week of training and exams, the selection of students is narrowed
down to four who will then participate at the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) held from July 5-14,
2002 in Groningen, The Netherlands. We wish the Canadian team the best of
luck!

TORONTO, March 18, 2002 - ACD/Labs Continues to Support the U.S. Team as they Prepare for The International Chemistry Olympiad
Advanced Chemistry Development is proud to once again support the U.S. Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp with donations of our chemistry software and other ACD/Labs goodies. The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) Study Camp is being held this year at the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO from June 2-16. The purpose of the camp is to prepare and select the team for The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) competition to be held in Groningen, The Netherlands from July 5-14, 2002. This is the 34th IChO competition and will be the 19th year that the U.S. has sent a team. Last year's team received 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals (see "Results" on http://www.hbcse.tifr.res.in/hbcse/main/icho/res). We wish this year's U.S. team the best of luck once again!

TORONTO, March 8, 2002 - ACD/Labs continues to surpass Moore's Law
with 300,000 software downloads!
Downloads of ACD/Labs' software products have increased steadily over the past
few years, doubling at a rate that surpasses Moore's Law. In October 2000,
ACD/Labs software downloads had reached an impressive total of 150,000. Now, a
mere 15 months later, we have raced past the 300,000 mark and show no signs
of stopping. At our current pace we forecast that we should reach 1,000,000

Waters Millennium 32 users can now attach chemical structures to chromatographic peaks, a new feature enabled by a collaboration with Advanced Chemistry Development. ACD/MolX technology has been incorporated into version 4.0 of Waters Millennium 32 enabling users to append chemical structures to chromatograms for storage in the Millennium 32 database.
