UNITED KINGDOM, 15 October, 1999 - Advanced Chemistry Development Implement SIMPLE web-based system at Pfizer's Analytical Research And Development Lab
Advanced Chemistry Development announce the implementation of SIMPLE, a system for Sample Information Management in a Process Laboratory Environment. This application has been developed for Pfizer's Analytical Research and Development Department in Sandwich, UK. This is a web-based system capable of tracking, scheduling and reporting of analytical data generated from and during the development process and builds upon the functionality developed for ACD/SLIMS. SLIMS is a full-featured sample manager allowing desktop access to sample information, chemical structures and analytical spectra (NMR, MS, IR, UV-Vis). Each aspect of the LIMS system is integrated to the appropriate helped application tool for textual reporting, molecular structure drawing and spectral processing and manipulation. For SIMPLE, the intention is to extend the functionality of the system to include the integration of automated system alongside the implementation of electronic notebook functionality. "This application has for the first time utilised the innovative strengths of web-based technology and three-tier architecture for management of analytical data in a pharmaceutical R&D laboratory" says Antony Williams, Chief Science Officer at Advanced Chemistry Development. "We have delivered a flexible architecture and foundation in this product for Analytical R&D at Pfizer Central Research and further developments will take place to provide additional functionality".

ROCHESTER, NY. July 1999, - Walkup analytical laboratories have become a crucial component of chemical and pharmaceutical analytical support during the past few years. These laboratories offer organic synthetic chemists access to automated NMR, MS, LC and other analytical techniques. These technologies generally produce a printout of the results for the chemist to analyze but the delivery of the data to the desktop for further processing has been the vision for many companies. The Eastman Kodak company has been one of the companies at the forefront of developing walk-up technologies and delivering data to the desktop. Advanced Chemistry Development is proud to announce the installation of our desktop processing tools for NMR, MS and LC, with fully integrated structure drawing, at the Eastman Kodak Company (Rochester, NY) to support the need for Windows NT-based desktop applications to help further enable this vision.
