Advanced Chemistry Development Inc. Announces New Director of Marketing

ACD is proud to announce Dr. Robert S. DeWitte as the new Director of Marketing. Robert will work with Antony Williams, Vice President of Scientific Development and Marketing, to develop marketing strategies for ACD product and service offerings. Robert will assume responsibility for all aspects of marketing operations at ACD. In addition to overseeing tradeshow preparation, marketing campaigns, advertising, and press release generation, Robert will apply his knowledge and understanding of the Drug Discovery process to ACD software in order to emphasize its value in various scientific markets
Robert joined ACD in July 2000, as ACD's Product Manager for PhysChem and I-Lab. Over the past year, Robert has focused on the development of the PhysChem product line and the I-Lab online service. His experiences and professional relationships in Pharmaceutical Discovery Research and Scientific Information Management have helped to shape ACD's understanding of the Drug Discovery research process.
Prior to joining ACD, Robert worked at Abbott Laboratories where he excelled as a scientist and as an information specialist. He was active in implementing a direction for Discovery Informatics, which led him to take responsibility for a major initiative in Discovery Information Management. Robert also worked in several areas of prediction including molecular properties, and co-edited literature on the Hydrophobic effect in Drug Discovery. In addition, Robert served as Chair of the working group on Cheminformatics at the Object Management Group's task force on LifeScience Research.
Robert's intellectual expertise is in techniques for prediction of molecular properties from chemical structures, and concerns theoretical and computational approaches to prediction. His education includes a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Physics from McMaster University, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from Harvard University.
When Robert is not planning ACD's next tradeshow or marketing campaign, this proud father of two, enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, and plays soccer during the summer months.
