ACD/Labs Workflow Management, Automation and Intranet Tools

Abstract

NMR Spectroscopy is used as a tool for Structure Verification and Elucidation in a variety of industries (Chemical, Pharmaceutical, etc.). The classic mechanism by which results are disseminated to scientist is on printed paper. Considering the demand for more efficiency at all levels in these industries, ACD/Labs' capabilities in the areas of Workflow Management, Automation, and Intranet-based prediction/verification deployment, can help to provide the Spectroscopist with appropriate solutions.

ACD/Web Librarian for instance is a thin client viewing and searching tool for a database. This allows deployment to an army of chemists without the need to install any desktop software.

ACD/Automation Server facilitates the automated process of transitioning data from instruments to the database. Until now a database has been prepared manually by scientists who would process the data prior to populating the databases. The processing tools are those which are available through ACD/SpecManager and act on the data via user-defined macros managed through Automation Server.

ACD/Workflow Manager can track samples and requests for an organization and notify the appropriate individual when data is available or an action is required. This presentation will show how a combination of these ACD/Labs tools can deliver an integrated ChemAnalytics environment to any size organization.
