A User's Guide to the Ins and Outs of Indirect Covariance

Arvin Moser

Abstract

Following a theoretical discussion on Indirect Covariance by Gary Martin, the application of this theory to real examples will be shown through ACD/2D NMR Processor. Working with typical experimental data, Indirect Covariance will be applied to an HSQC and TOCSY combination, as well as an HSQC and NOESY set of spectra.

Using Indirect Covariance, we will attempt to show you how interpretation of the data, and ultimately assigning the signals to a structure, can be done more efficiently. In addition, a discussion on how to best prepare your data for use in the Indirect Covariance routine will follow.
