Industry Insight - The Need for Systematic Naming

Abstract

Systematic Naming exists in many forms including the application of IUPAC rules, CAS Index rules and SMILES strings. The availability of electronic software to perform the systematic naming of molecules is both a significant timesaver as well as a manner by which to ensure consistency and reliability. An overview of both the need for systematic naming as well as available software modules to perform naming is given in this insightful article.
