Marketing Communication Specialist

Description:
Working closely with subject matter experts throughout the organization, you will be responsible for envisioning, planning, and executing a wide variety of brand management and marketing communications activities to promote ACD/Labs and our technologies. They will be responsible for the creation of content and identification of appropriate channels for distribution of messaging around ACD/Labs’ product and solutions (both launching new products and supporting existing technologies).
- Develop marketing and communication strategies to provide maximum exposure for the company; aid brand management.
- Plan and execute go-to-market strategies for new ACD/labs solutions and support existing technologies
- Work with subject matter experts to create and refine messaging and positioning of new and existing products
- Content marketing creation, email marketing and social media marketing
- Create marketing and promotional materials such as brochures, catalogs, flyers, email campaigns, web content, print and web advertising, posters, presentations, videos, surveys, press releases, and media focused tasks
- Plan and execute marketing activities for trade shows and user meetings
- Search engine optimization for the website
- Support sales enablement
- Travel to trade shows (2 per year)
- Interview customers to gather information for marketing activities.
Ideal Characteristics
- Degree in a scientific discipline or experience with analytical techniques and instrumentation; and/or industry experience in life sciences sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience or training in marketing communications, social media in a professional capacity, and content creation
- Ability to comprehend difficult concepts and translate/simplify/communicate to a broader audience
- Strong project management skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills and priorities management skills.
- The ability to multitask, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities.
- Self-directed, goal oriented and personally accountable
- Experience drafting corporate communications (internal and external) is an asset
- Experience drafting press releases and managing media relations is an asset
- Experience developing online content, and familiarity with best practices in writing for search engine optimization is an asset
- Experience with social media tools within a corporate environment is an asset

Degrees in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or related fields are preferable and knowledge of spectroscopy (NMR, IR, MS), chromatography (LC, GC), physical chemistry and/or biochemistry is highly desirable.
