Description
A Technical Support Specialist will work within the ACD/Labs Technical and Scientific Services Team to support existing customers.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Acquire an in-depth expertise of ACD/Labs' core software products.
- Effectively troubleshoot software issues and provide customers with accurate and timely responses.
- Clearly communicate software capabilities (through documentation or by conducting basic online training sessions) to highlight how ACD/Labs software can address critical business issues.
- Assist with software upgrades and installations in both local and enterprise environments.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with other ACD/Labs teams, including Sales, Development, and Application Scientists.
Requirements
Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, or relevant work experience.
Software knowledge: Experience with different chemistry software packages, Microsoft Office, and multiple operating systems is desirable.
Laboratory knowledge: The ideal candidate will be well versed in one or more of the following modern analytical techniques: NMR, MS, UV/IR, HPLC, LC, and GC. Experience collecting and analyzing analytical data is desired.
Language: Ability to communicate complex ideas (in verbal and written format) simply in fluent English is required.
A successful candidate will be able to work well in a team, excel at problem solving, have an eye for detail, be self-motivated, and be willing to learn and demonstrate new features of an evolving suite of chemistry software packages.
