Inside Account Manager

The role of the Inside Account Manager is to support the Sales team in the early stages of the sales process, and to develop upsell programs (working initially with the sales director and in his absence the VP of Sales “Manager”) targeting existing and potentially new customers. Specific responsibilities include: lead management, responding to customer requests for information, lead development, and the closing of orders for desktop products. The Inside Account Manager will also support the field sales organization at trade shows and other customer events.

Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Establish and maintain solid working relationships with prospects and existing customers
  • Achieve targets assigned to the Territory by the Manager. Revenues will be generated by selling Company’s software pertaining to the following product lines: NMR, MS, Chromatography, UV-IR, Curve, PhysChem, ADME-Tox, Nomenclature, Drawing and Databasing
  • Apply the Company’s sales process and strategies
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the Company’s core solutions, products and services, and have the ability to perform basic demonstrations of some of the products and to present the value of the offerings, to prospects and customers
  • Use telephone and email skills, and online resources to prospect for new contacts and opportunities
  • Follow up on leads promptly obtained via trade shows, the Company web site, word of mouth, and the Company database
  • Interact with the assigned Application Scientist where more detailed discussions and demonstrations of products are necessary
  • Interact with the Company’s Solution Managers to provide market feedback for future product development, and to assist in the advancement of sales opportunities
  • Develop a deep understanding of how to use the Company database, and use the Company database to seek out new leads, record interactions with prospects, and create price quotations
