Nitroso and Nitro Compounds

Rule C-852

852.1 - Compounds containing a -NO2 group are named only by means of a prefix "nitro-".

Examples to Rule C-852.1

852.2 - Compounds containing the group X=N(O)OH are named by adding the prefix "aci-nitro-" to the name of the parent compound XH2.
