Scope of Section C Section C deals with the nomenclature of compounds with characteristic groups containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, halogen, sulfur, selenium, and/or tellurium. It thus
supersedes almost all of Sections IV, V, and VII of the Liege rules, and also the relevant parts of the later revisions of Section VI.
