Rule C-106

106.1 - Compounds containing the group -IO or -IO2, are named by adding the prefix "iodosyl-" (replacing "iodoso-") or "iodyl-" (replacing "iodoxy-"), respectively, to the name of the parent compound.

Examples to Rule C-106.1

106.2 - Compounds containing the group -ClO, -ClO2, or -ClO3 are named by adding the prefix "chlorosyl-", "chloryl-", or "perchloryl-", respectively, to the name of the parent compound.

Example to Rule C-106.2

106.3 - Compounds containing the group -I(OH)2 or derivatives of this group are named by adding the prefixes "dihydroxyiodo-", "dichloroiodo-", "diacetoxyiodo-", etc. to the name of the parent compound.
