R-2.4 Polycyclic Parent Hydrides Polycyclic ring systems may be designated by trivial or semisystematic names (see R-9.1, Table 20, Table 21, and Table 24). Replacement nomenclature
may be used in a similar manner to that for heteromonocyclic compounds (see R-2.3.3). Several systems are used to name polycyclic ring systems.
