Specific Classes of Compounds

R-5.4.4 Hydroxylamines

Compounds with the general structure are named substitutively on the basis of the functional parent compound "hydroxylamine", using the locants N- and O- to distinguish between substitution on nitrogen or oxygen, or by attaching prefixes such as "hydroxyamino-", "alkoxyamino-", or " (aryloxy)amino-" to the name of the parent hydride R-H.
