Hardware and Software Recommendations

Listed below are the recommended hardware and software specifications to ensure that ACD/Labs applications and solutions run efficiently. For more details about particular installations, please refer to the installation guide.



Client-side Specifications

  • ACD/Labs Desktop Software

    * ACD/Spectrus package may require the follow for specific activities:

    • If you are planning to install the Apache ActiveMQ message broker along with ACD/Automation Server software, then Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) version 8 or later should be initially installed on the Server computer

    * Note: processor and disk space requirements will vary by application and use

    ** ACD/Automation Server requires:

    * Equivalence of alternative systems should be evaluated in terms of similarity to the workflows of CentOS (package management, network configuration, etc.). Adapting installation for alternate systems is the user's responsibility.

    * Even when both the Repository and the Kernel Server are hosted on Linux OS, it is recommended to keep the databasing and calculation machines separate. If both the Repository and Kernel Server components are installed on the same Linux machine, the corresponding hardware requirements must be summed.

    ** Equivalence of alternative systems should be evaluated in terms of similarity to the workflows of CentOS (package management, network configuration, etc.). Adapting installation for third-party systems is the customer’s responsibility.

    *** Outlined hardware specs assume a standard Percepta Kernel license with 4 parallel calculation units (sufficient for up to 50 users or 20,000 calculations/hour workloads). For larger deployments, add 1 processor core and 500 MB HDD per additional calculation unit, or consider hosting the Kernel server across several machines.

Citrix Deployment

Customers have successfully deployed ACD/Labs software under Citrix, however, ACD/Labs does not certify nor test the use of Citrix. ACD/Labs' Professional Services team have assisted customers with such deployments on a project basis. Fast network transfer of large data files between client and Citrix machine is critical.

Please note, installations under Citrix require the use of License Server (installed outside of the Citrix environment) to control license permissions.
