R-5.0 Introduction

The following recommendations illustrate how the general principles set out in the preceding sections are applied to various types of compounds. More detailed recommendations will appear in a forthcoming publication (see also the 1979 edition of the IUPAC Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry).
