Hydropolysulfides Rule C-513

513.1 - Compounds R-S2H, R-S3H . . . R-SnH are designated by radicofunctional nomenclature, generically as "hydropolysulfides", specifically by name of the radical R followed by "hydrodisulfide", "hydrotrisulfide" . . . . "hydropolysulfide". But see also Rule C-641.3 and Table XII.

513.2 - When the presence of an unbranched chain of sulfur atoms is to be stressed, compounds R-S-SH, R-S-S-SH . . . . R[-S-]nH are named as disulfanes, trisulfanes . . . . polysulfanes substituted by a radical R.
