An unexpected synthetic product coming from Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) in Berlin, from the lab of Dr. Marc Nazaré. The dataset was provided to ACD/Labs as part of our Structure Elucidation Suite Challenge. The product was isolated after a reaction and it was found by HR-MS to have a molecular formula of C14H13N3O.

In the search for novel antibacterials, Sequoia Science acquires spectral processing and databasing software that leverages previous research to speed up the discovery process. St. Louis, MO (August 12, 2008)— Sequoia Sciences, Inc., recently purchased and implemented powerful software from ACD/Labs that will allow them to more easily elucidate chemical structures as well as to...

I was flying home from Europe yesterday and was watching the Oscar award-winning movie “Good Will Hunting” starring Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck, and Minnie Driver: One thing I missed the first time I saw the movie, was a moment where Matt Damon’s character shows up at Minnie Driver’s dorm room to ask her...

We still find it a thrill when we bump into someone who says “ACD/Labs…are you the ones who make ChemSketch?”, and they then go on to regale us with a story about when/where they were using the software. As one of the most basic software requirements for scientists—a tool that helps them document and communicate their science in chemical structures—ACD/ChemSketch is often one of the first pieces of software they will use in their career, which means there is often nostalgia attached to its use.

The rapid increase in biopharmaceutical approvals and sales indicates their tremendous opportunities in the coming years. Innovative software solutions play an essential role in unlocking that potential. Learn more about how ACD/Labs brings chemical intelligence to biopharmaceutical research in this blog post.
